Walking through town I was impressed with the stress, urgency and panic etched on the shoppers faces.
It did not look pleasant, it looked fraught.
A few weeks back I was in town before the first hint of Christmas.
It was calm, cheerful and people looked relaxed.
The Christmas spending spree reminded me of the Celtic Tiger.
Yes there was money but it looked like it was creating more bad than good.
The pre Christmas stroll reminded me of the post indulgent and frugal days.
No, there is not an oversupply of money but people are happier.
I guess it’s like being rich but fat versus poor and but healthy.
Healthy is happy.
It’s all we have.
